Dr. Lisa Smith, ND
As a Naturopathic Doctor, I can requisition for a wide array of blood tests. These tests can be helpful in determining the cause of your concerns or for general health screening.
Food Sensitivity Testing
Food sensitivities are different than food allergies. A food allergy is an immediate immune response to a food that can create a potentially life threatening reaction. Symptoms of a food allergy arise very soon after consuming the offending food and may include: hives, itching and swelling of the tongue, mouth or throat and difficulty breathing. A food sensitivity is a delayed immune response to a food that can, over time, promote inflammation, which may contribute to a wide variety of health concerns, including: IBS and other digestive disturbances, migraines, difficult weight loss, fatigue, eczema, acne, joint pain, sinus congestion and runny nose, among others.
